Hello! I have a unique situation and I am looking for advice. On Saturday, my brother was returning home from picking up his new motorcycle. (Lives in TN / pickup in Texas). On the way home, a car swerved into his lane causing him to lay the bike down. (Louisiana) He sustained major injuries to his arms and ankles. They transported him to the nearest hospital. Since then, he has had multiple surgeries and will likely have a few more down the road. Problem is, he does not have health insurance. The other motorist was not stopped for the incident. No insurance on the new bike yet. The hospital is telling him that he does not qualify for charity, because Louisiana is not a neighboring state to Tennessee. Is there any program we could potentially sign him up for to help with the medical bills? We can't move him home for further treatment because he has already had so much work done. The hospital said another dr in Tennessee wouldn't work on him, because someone already had in Louisiana.

It's loneliness. What's the difference? One is a state. The other is a feeling. There are times when being alone is just what the doctor ordered. You watch what you want, eat what you want, go to bed when you want. Loneliness, on the other hand, is an emotional state where you feel isolated and disconnected — from others, yes, but also from your own happiness. In this case, avoiding isolation can be among the most effective ways to fight depression because human interaction prevents sinking into that unhealthy thought pattern. 6. Watch a Favorite Sitcom or Movie Too much TV or movies can be unhealthy, but so can too much of anything. Don't let it replace your social life, but don't beat yourself up if you find yourself slinking away to watch Netflix at the end of a long day. We recommend favorite sitcoms or feel-good movies — the viewing equivalent of comfort food, if you will — while understanding "feel-good" can vary wildly among tastes. 7. Write It Out Journaling, or writing out thoughts, is one of the many accepted ways to fight depression many patients either don't consider or actively avoid.
