As a member of the National Association of Plan Advisors' Government Affairs Committee, I'm fortunate to be a part of a group of plan advisors gaining insights from a top association in our industry and government leaders writing the laws of our land. The meetings, held at the end of every month, provide a snapshot into how Congress is viewing critical issues that impact retirement plans and — by default — the tens of millions of people who rely on them for their financial future. This past meeting gave me hope, particularly some of the bipartisan efforts to encourage people… As one of only a handful of financial professionals who still maintains the "ERPA" designation, I thought it would be worthwhile to share details about what that means and why it's important for both our clients — and, really, any business owner who may be in a taxing (pun very much intended) situation with the IRS. What exactly is an ERPA? An Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) is a professional who is legally qualified to represent clients and plan sponsors regarding matters involving qualified plans and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
One of the typical challenges in creating legal invoices for larger matters is entering in hours for multiple timekeepers, but Easy Legal Billing makes it simple! Our attorney time tracking software allows for users to set up multiple timekeepers and assign hourly rates to each for easy invoice creation. Here is an example of how you can set up multiple attorneys with Easy Legal Billing's attorney time tracking software: First, add in the Timekeepers that you would like to use in the invoice: In the "Timekeepers" tab, you should then see all of your time keepers along with their rates. Each of these timekeepers are searchable and can be edited by clicking onto the pencil icon. Now toggle to "Invoices, " click on the new invoice button in the upper right and start entering in the various items and be sure to select the proper timekeepers using the drop down feature: Now add in all of the various items from all of your time keepers. This can always be edited if you have any changes. Your invoice should look something like this (note the various attorneys and legal assistants that are used as timekeepers).
