REGARDING CORONAVIRUS 2019 (COVID-19) Indiana University School of Dentistry clinics are now open for comprehensive dental care. To schedule an appointment in any of our clinics, please call (317) 274-7433. Indiana University School of Dentistry continuously uses best practice infection control procedures to ensure your safety. As such, before entering the clinic all patients will be screened for symptoms of or evidence of exposure to COVID-19. Anyone who is exhibiting fever, cough, shortness of breath, or who has had known contact with any person confirmed or suspected to be infected with the coronavirus is prohibited. All individuals in the building are REQUIRED to: Wear a new face mask at all times while in public spaces. Everyone will be issued a new face mask upon entry to the building. Cover both your mouth and nose with your mask Maintain a physical distance of at least 6' from other persons. Wash or sanitize hands upon entry to the building. Arrive no more than 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

I have had to move my elderly parent who has dementia into my home. We were not close. She gave away more than half of her assets to my now dead brother before I became involved. She has income, but it is not enough for the care she needs. She fell and snapped her leg this time last year and the guy she had been living with evicted her at the ER (they had lived together for 24 years). She used to own two homes, but gave one away to my brother, and which now belongs to his widow. We have had zero contact since my brother died. Apparently, there was no agreement that he (or his heirs) would agree to help her if she needed that asset. The other home, she cannot return to, as she mortgaged it completely (again, before I became involved), and between needing the rental income, and that it is an upstairs unit (history of falls) and that she cannot be on her own, it is not an option. I managed to get her onto Medi-Cal, but because her income is more than $1, 200. 00 a month (and has a "share of cost"), her options are the most expensive form of care, skilled nursing institutionalization (which is more care than she needs), or nothing.
