Part of my therapy has been making new friends so i dont become obsessive over just a few people (as i have been in the past). its given me a huge self esteem boost to find so many people who genuinely like me. and its also given me perspective on myself and relationships in general. different people have different boundaries. One of my friends is cool with platonic sex, one of my friends hates touch to the point where she doesnt even want to be hugged. and i have tons of friends in the middle who are open to just cuddling, or massages, or foot rubs, but not sex. being able to have healthy relationships without touch has been huge for me. in the past ive always felt like i needed to offer sex to people for them to accept me. but ive now been shown, over and over to different degrees that this is not the case. obviously those with different 'love languages' will find different kinds of perspective, and resonate more with different kinds of boundary. but for me, who is very touch driven, this has been huge.
