It's reliable and only needs maintenance when it's a routine deal. I love that it gives me a nice, sporty look without the cost of buying a luxury sports car. Also, it flies through the streets which makes the name of the car fitting because Tiburon is actually "shark" in Spanish. One specific story would be teaching my little brother how to drive my car. It's automatic, so it wasn't difficult but thankfully it was only us in the parking lot because he was hitting the gas like there was no tomorrow! The best thing about my Tiburon is that it's reliable and durable. It lasts through the 120 degree heat and colder winters. My favorite feature though, would have to be the bucket seating. I mostly drive alone, but the bucket seat keeps my purse, CDs, and food from sliding off of the seat onto the floor. I also enjoy the hatchback trunk. It gives the trunk a lot more space than others would anticipate. I can't think of many cons for this vehicle aside from the height. While sometimes it's a pro, it's often times a con because it's difficult to see around larger vehicles and to see highway signs when I'm driving.

Avoid It Like The Plague. — This car was quick, easy to handle and very attractive looking, but had some SERIOUS engineering problems. I had mine a total of 4, 000 miles before the entire rotating mass in the transmission was destroyed. Apparently when the engineers at Hyundai designed the transmission, they didn't take into account that when the clutch was completely let out, the clutch was not completely engaged. Finally, when the clutch failed, Hyundai refused to replace it under the factory warranty even though it was a flaw in their transmission that caused the premature failure of the clutch assembly. This car is quick and sporty with great body lines. Stay clear from their manual transmission unless you plan to completely replace the stock unit with a high performance system that will actually function properly.

Actually, it was launched back in 2002 in both four-cylinder and V6 formats, but by 2004, the four-cylinder version had been given the flick as performance became more and more important. Which left us with the V6 version, the pick of which are now the later versions from the post-2007 facelift and later. Arriving at a time when the Hyundai brand was still building its credibility, the Tiburon is a much better thing that any Hyundai that had gone before it and, even in isolation, was a decent drive.
